Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. Announces Nationwide Recall of Pistachios Because of Possible Health Risk (March 30)

This voluntary recall affects certain bulk roasted inshell and roasted shelled pistachios shipped on or after September 1, 2008. The bulk product was distributed throughout the United States. The Company is voluntarily taking this precautionary measure after learning that a small amount of roasted shelled pistachios processed by Setton Pistachio and received by a commercial customer in late 2008 recently tested positive for Salmonella. This voluntary recall is not in any way related to the recent recalls associated with peanuts or peanut butter.
FDA Alerts Consumers to Recall of Certain Pistachios (March 30)
The FDA and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) are investigating Salmonella contamination in pistachio products sold by Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella Inc, Calif. The company has stopped all distribution of processed pistachios and will issue a voluntary recall involving approximately 1 million pounds of its products

Wright Popcorn, San Francisco California, today announced a voluntary nationwide recall of Wright’s 2 1/4oz. Caramelcorn Bars containing dry roasted unsalted split peanuts. We are also recalling Peanut Corp of America’s Small Chop Peanuts 30# Bulk Boxes. This is a precautionary measure resulting from the Peanut Corporation of America’s expanded recall for all products that have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella
Union International Food Company Recalls Packaged Peanuts Because of Possible Health Risk (March 26)
Union International Food Company of City of Industry, CA is recalling their packaged peanut products shipped prior to March 13, 2009 because they were packaged using peanuts recalled by Peanut Corporation of America’s Plainview, Texas facility because of the potential for Salmonella contamination.
The Produce Patch Recalls Cascade Trail Mix Because of Possible Health Risk (March 28)
The Produce Patch of Bend, Oregon is recalling Cascade Trail Mix, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Cascade Trail Mix was manufactured using peanuts/peanut products recalled by Peanut Corporation of America because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.
Kroger Recalls Shelled Pistachios Due to Possible Health Risk (March 27)
The pistachios were sold in The Kroger Co.’s family of stores in the following states: Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.
Medtronic, Inc. announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration classified as Class I its voluntary recall action initiated on February 11, 2009 of its BioGlide Ventricular Snap Shunt Catheter (Cat. numbers 27782, 27708 and 27802) — the cerebral ventricular catheter component of a shunt for the treatment of hydrocephalus.

Arya Ice Cream Dist. Co. of Los Angeles, CA is recalling their California Dream Nut Sundae Ice Cream product because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. This product was manufactured using peanuts recalled by Peanut Corporation of America’s Plainview, Texas facility because they have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella.
