| There have been a few reports of suspected swine flu cases across North Carolina.
According to the Associated Press, investigators were gathering specimens yesterday in Raleigh to determine whether the disease had spread to the state.
Investigators haven’t said where the suspected cases are located, but believe they will be able to either confirm or refute the suspected cases by Wednesday.
So far, there have been no deaths attributed to the swine flu in the United States despite over 40 confirmed cases.
In Mexico, where the disease is believed to have began spreading, around 150 deaths have occurred out of the over 1,600 confirmed cases of the disease.
The Associated Press reports North Carolinians who are suspected of having the swine flu have a travel history that links them near where the outbreak began and have severe flu symptoms. |
