Walking around in Nanjing, China I stumbled upon the street Zhujiang Road (spelling may be off). This place happens to be the electronic hub of the entire city. In one particular store, and hard for foreign eyes to spot, was a warehouse sized mall enveloped with advertisements for the electronic savvy consumers. Inside this store was packed with people of all ages, and even more so employees at each cubicle sized display store. This store included companies like Apple, HP, Lenovo, Dell, Acer, Samsung, etc.
From what I can tell, this mall caters to the young crowd, and at the same time everybody with the mindset to buy is quickly beckoned into their store to hear the 30 second spiel (in Mandarin, of course) about why their product is better than the rest. Unfortunately my Mandarin is non-existent, but I happen to be able to find English speakers who were more than happy to help a bewildered individual find his way around the gadgets.

Meizu M8:
One store in particular came from the MEIZU store, though with its poor corner placement I could tell that this detracted from its sales potential, I was still greeted with open arms.
Though I did not get the name of the Meizu Salesperson, she was eager to show me the features of the Meizu M8.
Compared to the iphone (2G)
-height is a tad smaller
-width is a tad thicker
-GUI system is nearly identical to iphone
-high quality plastic screen (not glass like iphone)
Priced at 1999 Yuan or a little less then $300
The touch screen is not glass, instead it’s more of a high quality plastic, and similar to the one found on the HTC TILT etc.
Overall I am thoroughly impressed at the Meizu M8. Luckily I’m using it right now, now that I’m back in the states.
